 A new year has arrived and  the "Corvettes of Elk  Grove"  are still traveling at full speed! We really appreciate any and  all donations toward helping the children and families of our great community.

December 2012

Annual Corvette Toy Run

On December 8, "Corvettes of Elk Grove" and "Just for Corvettes" made the  Annual Corvette Toy Run from 9500 Micron Way, Sacramento, in the West Marine parking lot. After dropping off the toys, everyone returned to the West Marine parking lot for Bar-B-Que Plates, Raffles, Awards and just plain old fashion people fun. We want to thank everyone who participated in the toy run and those who made the event possible.  (The Corvettes looked beautiful!!!) Special thanks to Dawn for helping us prepare plates. A special thank-you to the owner, Harvard Davis, for granting us the use of his facility for our event.

 The Sacramento Christmas Parade

On Saturday December 1, 2012, "Corvettes of Elk Grove" and "Just for Corvettes" were honored to have participated in the Sacramento Christmas Parade. The onlookers cheered as we escorted Mr. and Mrs. Claus in the beautiful corvettes. We really appreciate those who came out in the stormy weather to be a part of the parade.

Thanksgiving Dinners 

The "Corvettes of Elk Grove" and the families from the Oak Park Community Center extend their warmest thank you to everyone who contributed to the Thanksgiving Dinner boxes. A total of 50 dinners were given out. We delivered 30 dinners to the Oak Park Community Center. The remaining dinners were distributed to Leatrice Jenkins' church; Gregory Briscoe's church; Sylvia Moore's church; and Darrell Williams. Thanks to everyone who helped deliver these well appreciated dinners.

Annual Veteran's Day Parade

The November 12th Annual Veteran's Day Parade was a great success, because of those who came out to support us. Our sincere thanks to all the corvette members and friends who rode with us to escort our heroes.

School Backpacks

The Corvettes of Elk Grove and the youngsters from the Oak Park Community Center send their warmest thanks to everyone who contributed to the school backpack fundraiser. They received the backpacks with excitement as always. Special thanks go to Rafael, Donna, Willie and Dawn for their help in making this a successful fundraiser.

Phanton Fireworks Fundraiser

Our sincere thanks to the "Corvettes of Elk Grove" and "Just for Corvettes" members who diligently came out to help us with the fireworks fundraiser. Thanks to members and friends who worked in the stand and those who drove out daily to bring their Corvettes for display. All that ice and water kept us cool on the hot days and the coffee got us moving each morning.

North Highlands 46 Annual Memorial Day Parade

We would like like to thank every one who attended the North Highlands 46 Annual Memorial Day Parade making it a wonderful event. The parade theme was "Saluting Women of the Armed Forces," VFW Post 4647. We escorted the Incoming Commander, Fred Goode. "Thank you women for a job well done!"

Hooters Car Show Fundraiser

The Corvettes of Elk Grove and Just for Corvettes had a successful fundraiser this  Saturday April 7, at Arden. There was an exibition of over 325 awesome corvettes to see. Proceeds go to the Childrens' Receiving Home of Sacramento.There are more fundraisers coming soon for Backpacks and Thanksgiving to help our youth.Our sincere thanks to everyone who came out.

Martin Luther King Jr. Parade

Once again, we are proud to say that the MLK Jr. Parade was a big success.  The "Corvettes of Elk Grove non-profit Foundation," and "Just for Corvettes" sincerely thank every one who supported us. Lou was happy to pick up the dinner tab at the "Golden Corral" for all who participated in the parade. Thanksgiving Dinners

We extend the warmest thank you to everyone who contributed to the Thanksgiving Dinner boxes for the Oak Park Community Center. We gave 32 dinners to the Oak Park Community Center; 5 dinners to Leatrice Jenkins' church; 5 dinners to Gregory Briscoe's church; and 5 to Sylvia Moore's church. We also gave 3 dinners to people who came looking for help. Most of the families stated they would have no Thanksgiving dinner if not for the gift giving. All received the dinners with great appreciation and some with tears of joy. Again, thank you from the bottom of our (COE) hearts.

The Warriorz Fitness Club

The "Corvettes of Elk Grove" and "Just for Corvettes" non-profits paticipated in The Warriorz Fitness Club's Grand Opening & Fashion Daybut on Saturday, July 23 at Sheldon and Elk Grove/ Florin. Back-to-School

School Backpacks Give-away. We would like to thank everyone who donated toward the purchace of school back-packs for this event. We delivered a total of 37 school back-packs filled with supplies on Thursday to the Elementary School and on Friday to the Jr. High School. Thanks so much for showing your love and continued support for the children of our community.

Corvettes Progressive Dinner Run/and Party

The June 11, "Corvettes Progessive Dinner Run." was a day of feasting and sharing. The event began with breakfast starting with Wes and Wanda and ended with desserts at Lou's place. We had a great time, even a little "Slot Machine" play time.

Fire Works Fund Raiser

The "Corvettes of Elk Grove Non-profit" and the "Just for Corvettes" club sponsored a fireworks fundraiser from June 28 through the July 4th holiday. It was located at Sheldon and Elk Grove-Florin. The fireworks fundraiser was very trying-but I am sure it will be easier next time??? Thanks to all who came out and supported us with their help and their presence.

Memorial Day Parade

The "Corvettes of Elk Grove" and "Just for Corvettes" opened up the North Highlands Memorial Day Parade. Thank you members and friends who came out to be a part of this event.

Easter Sunday

On Sunday April 24, Wes and Wanda Person, Don Harris and his staff, Moe Mohanna, Lilly and myself (Lou) went to "Loaves and Fishes" to give out candy to the children. The children received the candy with smiling faces. We also gave out pies to Don’s staff as a thank you for their wiliness to come out on such a special day to share with the homeless and less-fortunate. They were served a fine Easter dinner. Everyone had a great time!

Hooters Car Show Fund Raiser

On Saturday April 2, "Just for Corvettes" and "Corvettes of Elk Grove" held a car show fund raiser at the "Hooters Club." It was very successful and everyone had fun. The Corvettes of Elk Grove donated a variety of pies toward the ticket raffle. The Clubs presented a cash donation to Captain Niko of the "Sacramento Fire Department Burn Unit."

Martin Luther King Jr. Parade

The 30th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Parade held on January 17, 2011, was awesome! It was 300 percent successful.

On behalf of the "Corvettes of Elk Grove non-profit Foundation," we would like to thank the "Just for Corvettes" Club for supporting us in the Martin Luther King Jr. Parade Ride. The corvettes added beauty as-well-as style to the parade.

We received numerous calls from individuals who said how they enjoyed watching the colorful corvettes rolling past. I am sure the parade queens and the dignitaries were excited to ride in those lovely cars.

Back-to-School School Backpack Give-away.

We had a request for 20 backpacks but after so many generous donations, we were able to supply students with 32 Backpacks filled with school supplies.
